It's Foreign On This Side
I could name dozens of reasons as to why Singapore may be the better country. But nothing can ever beat the fact that the Philippines is HOME.. I miss home, my family, and Thony more than I could express. But I give myself NO REASON to waste this opportunity that I was given. I'm forever grateful that I have a second family with me here who's equally supportive. (Yeah, I know it's really not that far. I mean it's still in Asia. But still, it's overseas. That makes all the difference.) Labels: blah, emo-schemo, family 3.22.2010
Not quite messed up anymore
EVALUATION: GOAL MET AS EVIDENCED BY FOUR YEARS' WORTH OF TRASH OUT OF MY ROOM AND INTO THE TRASH CAN OUTSIDE THE HOUSE. Furthermore, after four years of staying exactly the same way, I thought it was also time for stuff in my room to get rearranged. Upon doing so, I realized the following: 1. that I have a freakishly huge bed and I never should have tried moving it all on my own coz it didn't even budge; 2. that the laptop and booming speakers should've never ever been situated atop the STUDY table. That explains my past unsuccessful attempts at sitting quietly on my study table and ACTUALLY studying there for real (instead of logging on to facebook or watching DVDs); 3. that I have TOO MUCH junk for one person; and 4. that I didn't spend 9 hours straight of cleaning up today for no reason at all. The purpose was so that I could start thinking straight. Well I don't think I've mentioned it yet but for me, a clean room equals a clear head. Yea.:) Speaking of thinking straight, YEP I badly need that one. March is almost over. THE BIG THING COMES THIS JULY.. By the way, graduation day is four days from now but my thoughts about it haven't been completely formulated yet. I need time for it to sink in.. However, the dominant feeling right now is GRATITUDE.. tremendous gratitude to HIM and certain special people. :) Here's a photo from our recent Pinning Ceremony.. courtesy of my friend Jan. ![]() Ciao! I believe I shall be blogging again SOON. No, soon does not mean three months from now..:D Labels: blah, family, favorite people, making sense, school, skool 1.01.2009
the year that was
2008 was really kind, to me at least. I hope 2009 does the same for the rest of the world. HAPPY NEW YEAR EARTH!:] photos by kahriz and ynna. *** Btw, I spent the holidays with my first ever set of girlfriends (girlfriends since birth) : my sister Tin and favorite cousins Kahriz and Ynna. Too bad it'll be two more years 'til we see each other again. *** ..also had some quality family time during the break. Hope you did too! this is but random.
"I was aware of the time slipping away so quickly, like the black road beneath us, and I was hideously afraid that I would never have another chance to be with him like this again — openly, the walls between us gone for once. His words hinted at an end, and I recoiled from the idea. I couldn’t waste one minute I had with him." ----Bella Swan, Twilight Ok so I'm a fanatic. Leave me be. On a lighter note, I spent the whole day shopping with my sister. We both got new piercings. Haha. Trip lang. Had some coffee at Starbucks too. Then headed home and gulped down some alcohol.. just because we can't come up with anything else to do. BTW, had the pictorial last friday. The people were awesome.. that's from the photographers and their SLRs which made me drool, the director of photography, make-up artist, designer, stage parents and stage friends.:) Special thanks to Sir Poklong.:D And oh Nursing week was great too. Too bad I wasn't able to savor it coz I was busy with something else. Fck. I missed the games! Yeah I know it's loser-ish. I made it a point to be there at the acoustic sessions though.. Thony played guitar hero again. CON band rocked. Detailed post later, probably. Need some sleep right now. Nyt earth. Sleep well.XD Labels: blah, family, favorite people, ms. that mom thing
The thing with my mom is that whenever her birthday comes she insists (or maybe more like commands) that we don't buy her presents anymore. She says we're merely wasting our money (which according to her is her money too) and that what's more important is that she gets to spend her special day with us, her family. But in the end she gets a present from us anyway. It seems the daughters she raised got a tinge of hardheadedness. ![]() But whatever it is, it shall not involve a Hallmark card that comes with a perfect pre-written message by some unknown author and a handwritten note from me on the other side of it. Even my deepest, most flamboyant, elaborate words would sound superficial when told to her. You see, no number of thank you's or i love you's will ever be able to compensate and convey the exact feelings I have for the woman whom I owe my being to. Cheers to my mother. A nagger. A pushy pusher. A teacher. A role model. A best friend. A woman of strength, sense, wisdom and humor. Happy birthday too to her twin sister Aunt Tess, a person of determination. Maybe someday I will be able to give my mother and father the perfect present. Oh how I long for that day. ![]() Labels: blah, family, making sense 4.07.2008
what's left of a summer vacation
Hey there. I apologize for the not-too-long absence.. I've got one week before our summer classes start.. Might as well make the most out of it.. Oral defense for the CDx is finally over. Big whew. I wouldn't want to elaborate but to summarize how it went, let me quote Mr. Lagazon, one of our panelists and only the oldest (literally) and most "batikan" among all C.I.s in our college: "I must say that you did a very good work." Quite a bland and simple statement to quote.. but there really was something blissfully fulfilling with the way he said it. You should've heard it yourself. I'm so thankful that the panelists' decision for our work is not to start all over again, a verdict which other sections sadly got. ![]() But that's not the end of CDx. We still have a few revisions to do on it. Our house have constantly been the home of some classmates for a few days now. CDx has kind of taken over what was left of a summer vacation for me. But even so, I wasn't going to let it completely grab all opportunities to have fun. Duh. ![]() Starbucks at SM Clark has finally opened. And it's not helping at all with my coffee addiction. Haha. Thony, Red, Arren, Mitch and I hung out at the place after spending the whole day at my house patching CDx things up. Had fun. Coffee and friends never fail to make me happy.
We drove to the Camayan Beach at Subic to get some kind of timeout for all of us. The place is so damn "photogenic". ![]() On to other serious matters.. I've developed yet another addiction.. Something which I, like all other addicts feel toward their addiction, unfortunately but delightedly can't get enough of. BTW speaking of my guy, Thony's older brother purchased a handsome Toyota Vios. Now Thony, being the "sipsip" younger bro that he is, would of course be free to drive it around. Ok now I'm green with envy. Labels: blah, family, favorite people, muzik, photography, skool, trip |
