How do you start writing about a really really long story which for you is somehow too big for words? Err. That's my problem right now. Let me just put it this way..

Soo.. AUF's Mr. and Ms. University 2008 is finally over.
And I won. LOL. There. I said it.

I don't even know how to tell the tale or where to start or which details I should disclose. The whole experience is just surreal. I mean, it's not like I joined Ms. Universe, Ms. Earth or Bb. Pilipinas, but this event is still "something", at least for me and the rest of my university.

"All I want is perfection, nothing else" If I'm not mistaken, our director screamed that at us, the 24 candidates, during our first real rehearsal for the coronation night.

Last December 6, I was NOT exactly the embodiment of perfection. I even had my fair share of bloopers on stage, having exited the wrong way during the sportswear competition (LOL!!haha:D). Nevertheless, I came out there as, well, ME. Truth is, the competition was not what was mainly in my mind. Instead, I thought about enjoying every moment of it because somehow, even if I don't admit it a lot, the whole thing is a dream which actually came true. Oh and yes, I also focused on not tripping over. haha.

The venue was perfect. Much like a scene straight out of a fairytale book where royalties vied for one crown. However, what was happening backstage was a complete opposite. Chaos is the word. Good thing my mom never left me. What could I have done without her?!

Anyway, for the record, I got the title Ms. University along with JD Hizon as Mr. University. We were both candidates #11. I guess 11 was a lucky number that night.:) I was awarded Ms. Photogenic and for some surprising and unknown reason, I was also Best in Sportswear.

I know it's too early for thank you's but the support I received from the following people is just overwhelming: my wonderful parents (best parents on earth!!), my sister Christine, the rest of my family, Thony, Red, Biggies, Rochelle (wish I could do it the way she did it), all my closest friends, and the College of Nursing. Indeed, I am so blessed.

Other people may think that pageants and beauty queens are overrated. I say, this experience has helped me become more real and actually believe in myself, having been the girl who used to never really have enough confidence. I also gained new friends through my fellow candidates. The story didn't end during the coronation night though, it actually was just the beginning. Good luck to me for the next 12 months! Everything about this is totally new to me.xD

BTW, barely two weeks after all that, I had to fulfill one of my first responsibilities (wow I actually have responsibilities now. lol.) which is to compete for another pageant, the Mutya ng PRISAA (Private Schools Athletic Association) Regionals at Bulacan. I spent December 15-17 being absent in school (which saddens the nerd in me because I missed a lot) and mostly rehearsing or hanging out at the hotel room, living on burgers and mineral water. I wasn't exactly a fan of the adobong manok back there. I guess I just got used to the way Kapampangans do it.XD

Anyway, since God somehow likes me a lot (hehe kapal) I got the title Mutya ng PRISAA for Region III along with two other special awards, Ms. Photogenic and Best in Filipiniana. (Medyo nawweirdohan na ako sa mga pangyayari ah. hehe.). I'll be in the national competition in Bicol next year so cross your fingers for me..:)

Thanks to the special people who became part of those three days --- my co-candidates, Sir Poklong, Sir Boron, Ate Ardi, Franchette, Sir Polic, Sir Dumboo, Sir Daenos, Sir Adrian and the kind people from CCA.

I'm supposed to thank God in here too but I'm sure He knows that already. I asked Him a little but He gave me a lot.XD

I realize it's almost Christmas already, my favorite time of the year! and Yay I'm actually blogging again..OMG it's been TWO MONTHS since my last blog post. What a shame. I missed this place..XD
