let's leave everything at the boardwalk
Aug.30 'til 31.08.
(If you don't want the detailed account, just stare at the photos.)

It was around 8:30 pm, a Saturday night. Apparently, I was on a joyride with my resurrected-from-third-year-high-school friends --- Kath, Win, Tonyang (real name: Toni. Tonyang na lang para hindi ma-confuse with Thony my boyfriend) and Mendi. We were supposed to be headed for a short drive to Envy Bar when Win decided that he wanted four hot-looking headturners with him instead of four underdressed (but nevertheless still gorgeous!) girls... and so we started thinking of some other place to crash.. someplace less demanding of fashion sense.

Then out of the blue, someone screamed 'SUBIC tayo!' (I think it was Kath in her overly excited mood), and since we all had equally crazy and giddy minds, minutes later we were cooking up our evil oh-so-sudden plan to actually drive miles away from home and hit the beach in the middle of the night. Win has never driven that far and some of us were unprepared with what alibis to tell our parents and boyfriends.. but it had to be pushed through no matter what.. masyado na naming inexcite mga sarili namin para ipostpone pa.!

We left the city at 11:30 p.m. after much much much waiting (muntik na nga namin buuin mga sili na pinapatuyo sa harap ng dorm ni Jonabel) for some other guy and girl friends of Tonyang's who were also coming with us. Of course we used the very functional SCTEX to get there. It was really dark, chilly and scary along the way, what with all the fog and the absence of postlights..! But it's actually what made the roadtrip even more exciting. Hehe. Our feet touched Subic at around 12:30 a.m. (screw the promised 30 minutes from Clark to Subic!).

We headed to the boardwalk, sat barefooted on the sand, had Bubble Gum lambanog mixed with Sprite (loved!!), some Tequila, Sisig (not as good as the sisig back here at home), fish fillet, fries, a game of truth or dare (which didn't last long since no one did really cooperate much. haha.), camwhoring, and lots and lots of laughs.

The beach, with its several static sailboats, was so peaceful it was almost like it was asleep or something. Good thing it didn't suddenly get agitated when some guys I know peed on it! Ick! Haha. Anyway even if it was peed on, since the the sea is vast anyhow, Kath, Mendi and I still had the guts to sink our feet on it and play around.. The water felt great on my feet.. I missed Subic so much I was just so glad to feel its waters again. Aww. The sea was in no way blue that night nor was it the same picturesque view I took pictures of the last time I was there (kasi naman gabi kaya madilim, puro black) but it didn't matter. I was just so glad to be with people I'm totally comfortable with.

Sad to say, the sun had to rise and we had to leave the boardwalk and go home some time. FCA's, Case Studies and exams were waiting for us back home. Everyone was a little tipsy and sleepy in the end but we all managed to get home with grins on our faces. Yay we made it! Thank God na chena lang ang narcolepsy ni Win at abnormally obedient xa sa mga traffic rules. Haha.:D Thank God Mendi was bringing her ever trustworthy digicam. Too bad silent lang si Kath about her birthday at hindi xa naglibre ni tapsilog man lang.. hehe walangya. Cheers to Bap2 (aka John lloyd) and his friends. hehe.

We watched the sky slowly change from jet black to orange to pink to blue as we drove by a grand view of the ever-so-green mountains. In some unexplainable sense, it gave me peace and bliss while just sitting there. To say that the morning was beautiful is an understatement.. beyond words probably.
I loved everything about it.

Too bad the trip going back home took only about half an hour. Ok, so SCTEX's 30-minute Subic to Clark promise is true then after all.:D

What a great way to end August.

Going back to reality...

Thony was mad at me for sneaking away. He was so angry that we didn't even get to have our usual Sunday date yesterday. I'm trying to make it up to him. But I'm glad, no matter how hard he tried to stay mad, he still can't help but have his usual involuntary smile when he saw me this morning... that's how much he loves me! I should be damn flattered..

But he says he's "still mad" at me though. Err.

P.S.
Death Cab for Cutie's "I Will Follow You Into The Dark" makes me cry.. XD. ow emo.
