9 signs of acute depression
mood: depressed Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

1. your normally zit-free face suddenly sprouts two huge pimples overnight. now you're ugly.

2. you shift from a ravenous appetite to an almost anorexic state. also overnight.

3. you don't feel like talking at all to anyone all day.

4. you come home, lie flat on the bed and stare blankly at the ceiling for about an hour. when you finally get tired of the ceiling, you watch the floor instead.

5. "Luha" by Kapatid is on repeat. because it makes you teary-eyed.

6. you tell your boyfriend "malungkot ako" about 20 times a day.. and when he makes funny faces which normally makes you laugh buckets, you do not move a single face muscle.

7. if ever you'd laugh, you're not really laughing. you only laugh coz people might start thinking you've gone abnormal.

8. pati nanay mo ay sinungitan mo. yan tuloy nagalit.

9. you blame yourself for missing the audition for that damn pageant. now you'll have to wait until next year. leche

ban love letters
Mood: down

I've always been a big advocate of love letters. I've been receiving, writing and keeping them ever since I could remember. In fact, I probably have stacks hidden all over my room. Yes they're cheesy and a little old but sweet and cute at the same time.

I love Love letters. But that was until today. From now on, I am banning them.

This is probably the last love letter I will ever write. So much for some monthsary trash eh?! I'm not even going to actually give this one to the person it is addressed to. I don't think he deserves to read the pretty words I have placed in it.

Ugh. What am I saying?! I can't hate love letters! I know this is again just one of my teenage mediocre drama. So please pardon me for blabbering non-sense.

Whatever. I know next week I might change my mind back. Or next month maybe. But one thing's for sure. I will never forget today.

So whoever you are, happy 18th monthsary to us. Yeah right. Do you even think we should still be celebrating every month? Isn't it getting a little tiring for you? I was just wondering. Oh, and sorry for making you cry. I just thought today was somehow special.

Thanks for the worst 17th of the month ever.

the chonkeys
Mood: reggae-ish

"diksyonaryo" by the chonkeys

the first time i had my ears on this song was like three years ago at the clark music festival. i instantly fell in love with it right there on my spot at the front line of the pit. i don't know about you, but my friends and i found it kinda funny.. uhm especially that punch line in the end.

the chonkeys played then along with radioactive sago project, bamboo and wunjo (i think that was the time when i almost fell asleep on wunjo's set.) the chonkeys is kind of an underground band so not many people have heard of it. but if you're looking for some music to be high with, then this is certainly the band. the name says it all. haha.

or maybe if you're simply looking for some good pinoy music.

but then again, we have different tastes. other people may find them trashy. whatever. i love 'em.

not your typical thursday
after our typically nosebleeding anatomy class, joyni and joan announced that they are hungry. extra hungry as a matter of fact. and so we (joyni, joan, rain and I) went on a quest for some good food..

joyni: tara kitaro! di ko pa natry dun eh..
me: ay oo! may narinig ako kahapon na nagsabi na masarap daw dun..!
rain: (i'm not sure if it really was rain who said this): sino naman?
joan: ngek.
joyni: tara kitaro!!!

and so we went to kitaro which is a short walk from the main building. little did we know, our nosebleeding anatomy class has its continuation. let's just say we aren't japanese nor do we love japanese food, so when we were given the menu, all we did was fall silent and look at each other's confused faces. all we know about japanese food is sushi and wasabi.

me: sino naman kasing nagyayang magkitaro tayo eh..... grrr..

but it tuned out all right. we ordered the beef thingy (i've forgotten). it was ok, but i'd still choose tokyotokyo over kitaro.

at dismissal time, as usual i am to wait for thony coz he still has classes. but today, i didn't spend the time alone at the internet cafe. thony's class was having this newscasting activity for english class. they had to act like real newscasters, dress like them and face the camera. their individual performances were recorded and graded. anyone can watch so i went over and watched him. he actually looked good with his coat and tie. i felt like it's prom season again. haha. : )

today, thony also got to borrow his brother's phone coz he needed it for the activity. nung una, nagmamayabang pa nga siya na sa kanya daw yun. hehe. it was a sony ericsson something. i don't know exactly what unit it is but i kinda like it (but i'd still choose my phone over it of course).

after thony has changed back to usual clothes and after alfred, his friend and classmate, borrowed his coat for his performance, we hurriedly headed home because it looked like the rain is striking again. true enough, it did. and yet again, we got caught under it. what's new?!

when we got home (soaking wet again), walang power. great. just then, thony realized something...

the phone was gone. nowhere to be found. we kind of panicked coz if he didn't find it, lagot siya sa kuya niya.

naisip naming magtawag ng mga classmates niya, coz they might have seen it somewhere back in school. pero wala ni isa sa amin sa bahay ang may load para tumawag. ehe. di kami makalabas para makapagload dahil sobrang lakas ng ulan at malayo pa ang bahay ng nagloload. we also can't use the landline to call his mates' cellphones coz our landline is locked.
and so there we were. fidgeting helplessly in the dark. waiting for the rain to stop and for a miracle (lost cellphones usually don't come back).

what could have happened to it?! where could it be?!

then suddenly, a savior came. dumating si tin (at kasama pa ang bagong manliligaw niya, naks, tig-isa kami ng lalaki sa bahay noh?! buti na lang wala si dad nung time na yun, lol) at MAY LOAD siya! at pwede pang pantawag.

we started calling thony's classmates whose numbers, for some odd reason, he memorizes. but no one was answering... minutes passed, still no one got on the line.

ring.. ring...
..hello?!
at may sumagot nga!

thony: hello? sino 'to? ibalik mo fone ko!

and they lived happily ever after. the end.

erap proclaimed guilty, finally
Mood: political

Today, the much celebrated case of former President Erap finally came to a conclusion (indefinitely that is, since Erap's camp could still appeal to the higher court). He was proclaimed guilty of plunder with which he was sentenced reclusion perpetua to death. A lot of Filipinos are probably rejoicing with the court's decision. At last, the corrupt former president who they themselves have brought down from office (and who they themselves too have put to office by the highest number of votes in Philippine election history, mind you. how ironic.) by marching off at EDSA is now, after six long years, sentenced and paying for the consequences of his betrayal to the nation.

But then, there are also others who may think otherwise. Could this event truly signal something big in Philippine history? I mean, will this change anything at all in a society infested with thousands of other corrupt individuals outside prison bars? What about those people who are still freely pursuing their unlawful operations? Sure they aren't about to teminate their illegal acts any time soon. Yes, Erap was only ONE among them. With this continuing condition, when will the Filipino people truly gain justice?

Moreover, when will Filipinos ever realize that democracy doesn't mean flocking at EDSA and screaming for impeachment whenever they find the system unfavorable? Will the idea of establishing cooperation with the administration ever hit their sleeping minds?

Think about it.
Hmm. And what could Mr. Estrada be thinking right now? He's probably regretting that fateful day when entering politics came to his mind. Oh how he must miss his swash-buckling and peaceful movie days.

some inspiration
Mood: inspired Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

In PHC, we have this really jolly c.i. we call ma'am hydee and just yesterday, she gave us a glimpse of how her college life as a student nurse was. The way she told her story was so effective that I should say I was deeply taken. She was one of those who graduated cum laude in her batch.

and by her story i was inspired...

really. inspired.
